Memphis Grays Baseball

Candice and Kevin Booker spearheaded a group that organized The Memphis Grays Baseball Team in July 2000.  Mr. Booker, a former college and professional baseball player, played baseball at Fairley HS and has been the Director of Sports Instruction at Dulins Sports Companies for several years.

The Memphis Grays Baseball Team was created to give young inner-city athletes the opportunity to expand their dreams and expectations through the sport of baseball.  The Memphis Grays is affiliated with the Africa in April Cultural Awareness, diversity, and the proper fundamentals needed to perform in life and on the baseball field.

Educational activities such as Africa in April, Guest Speakers, and Museum Tours introduce the Grays to the wonderful opportunities provided for people who complete their education beyond the high school level.  Dulins Sports Academy, the largest indoor baseball training facility in the Mid-South, provides professional baseball, health, and fitness training to the Grays in the summer, winter, and fall.  The year, 2003, the Grays will behin its first yaer of participation in the highly competitive Shelby-Tipton Summer Baseball League.  Summer baseball games against Germantown HS, CBHS, Houston, HS, and the Dulins Dodgers, will provide the team with quality opponents.

The Memphis Grays Summer Baseball Team is comprised of players from the ages of 14 to 17.  There are no player fees and no cost for uniforms for those who participate.  The Players are required to attend all educational activities, practices, and games.  Memphis Grays Baseball emphasizes the importance of players respecting themselves, all others, and the The Game we love, Baseball.
